Short biography Born and raised in China, Gungun Lin was a one-year exchange student at Ulm University, Germany, during his undergraduate study in 2008. He received his Master of Science at Ulm University, Germany, in 2010. During his study, Gungun Lin worked as research assistant in the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research (ZSW, Baden Württemberg, Germany), and teaching assistant in the Institute of Micro and Nanomaterials at Ulm University. Since 2011 he has been a PhD student at the Institute for Integrative Nanosciences within the Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden). In 2013 he joined the SMaRT research group established by means of the ERC starting grant of Denys Makarov. Gungun Lin is a member of the Association of Chinese Chemists and Chemical Engineers in Germany (GCCCD). Research interests - Fabrication and characterization of magnetic sensorics
