Short biography

Julian Schütt finished his master studies in 2013, Technical University of Dresden, in the Master program "Molecular Biogenineering" at BIOTEC Dresden. His master thesis dealt with the integration of droplet-based microfluidics andsilicone nanowire field effect transistors (SiNW FET). Following, he started to work as a PhD student in the chair "materials science and nanotechnology" of TU Dresden lead by Prof. Dr. Cuniberti. During this time, he worked in the bionanosensoric department focused on prototyping of the new generation of nano-scaled biosensors for early disease detection. He worked on the development and improvement of miniaturized sensors based on nanoscaled semiconductor devices as well as impedimetric metallic biosensors, mimicking the flow cytometry principle. After defending his PhD thesis in early 2019, he joined the "Intelligent Materials and Devices" research group lead by Dr. Denys Makarov at Helmholtz-Zentrum-Dresden-Rossendorf in June 2019.
